There are many different variations to each pose in Pilates, and in order to move to the next level, you need to have a solid foundation of the basics. By working one-on-one with an instructor, you will be able to work through the basic poses at a pace that is best for you! The instructor will be able to help you if you are struggling with a certain pose or your form is not what it should be. The best part about working through the basics with an instructor is that you can take everything you learn and directly apply it to the group classes.
At Konnect Pilates, our instructors can help you every step of the way. Our private sessions are available to all skill levels and our Pilates instructors our even available to help dancers and athletes understand their movements and reach peak performance. In group classes, you might find yourself in a room with as many as 20 people and only one instructor, depending on the class size for that Pilates studio. That being said, the instructor will have to keep tabs on everyone in the room, and while you have opportunities to ask questions and make sure you’re doing something correctly, you won’t have the individualized attention you would have in a private session.
In a private session, all of the instructor’s attention will be focused on you. He or she will be able to tell you if your shoulders are too far forward, or during a certain move your back isn’t flat enough. You will learn more about the way your body moves than ever before!
In group classes, it’s easier to slack off if your body gets tired or you’re not motivated enough. In private sessions, you have the full attention of the instructor, and slacking off just isn’t an option. Instructors want you to reach your full potential, therefore it’s important to keep moving and push through any soreness or exhaustion. By working one-on-one with a Pilates instructor, they will be able to help motivate you to keep going.
At Konnect Pilates, we offer both group classes and private one-on-one classes with our certified Pilates instructors. Whether you are a beginner, a seasoned Pilates expert, or you’re an athlete looking to improve his or her performance, we have something for everyone!
